Family Education

A school is a place of debt for students who need special attention was to the school or college were taking and was sent to “alternative education center.” You can not be sent there because of drug or behavioral problems, but often it is not.

The school today was for students who have been completely expelled from the school system in their district. While two of them were released because of behavioral problems, and because attendance records that were so bad they lost each time, the largest proportion of these children were there because of drug abuse. Even the usual “last chance” school is a step above. I visited this type of installation as much as I really got to know the kids, and I must say, I love them.

You are in trouble, sure, but most of them can find their way back to work in the main school senior with a little effort. And most of them. The turnover rate is high in these schools, I attended the same school about 8 months and 40 students, only 4 or 5 were there when I last spoke. The rest have either been abandoned or worked their way back to school or continue regular high school, which is only about three blocks.

There is always a certain familiarity with the drugs in these facilities be located above the usual secondary consciousness, but it is rarely a superior understanding.

Too often think students because they understand the drugs, they do. It is a dangerous misconception.

You can actually experience the user is presented with a drug at a higher level of risk in relation to the drug and other drugs.

First start taking a child, a pill or medication, they tend to be cautious and often is only attempt to avoid a small amount to an overdose. But once the first test goes off without a hitch, without any real problem is the tendency to believe that the drug was safe and they often take on a higher dose next time. After some time without fear of consequences, they feel confident that there is very little risk in it, and that risk behavior is reckless behavior.

The students I spoke were, today was fun, and after some initial resistance, our discussion about the drugs they see (and use) has been very open and informative. You could see on their faces, surprised that we discussed what actually some of the things that they abuse the streets.

As is usually the case, a percentage of this special population is already addicted to getting high. Even if they are not dependent on a particular drug, they are hung to “fold”, they will not be coming to an end. For these students, the only real possibility that treatment in a hospital detoxification, not only to continue their destructive, “Drugs are the Answer” is-models.

But I could see there were quite a few of them, the decisions were before me choices that lead them away from making the drug scene. I could see in their faces and they filled in the polls, after I finally closed two hours later. These were as follows, in a sense, a secondary intervention.

Here are some comments from the surveys:

“I can teach my friends and my little brother, to keep them from ruining their lives.”

“I thought the speech was very informative and explains Tony medication best I’ve ever heard. He never changed dramatically on people addicted, as I have seen in the past. My thoughts.”

“I thought it would be to talk to me and other students was really good because we now more about what the drug and know what it is not for you. I can use it to say friend.”
